Susannah Lees-Jeffries

Many of you will have enjoyed Susannah Lees-Jeffries from Royal New Zealand Ballet last Monday.

Susannah told us about the beginnings of the Ballet Russe and there's a great documentary available on Youtube - it's an old doc and it has Dutch subtitles along the bottom which can be quite frustrating but if you can ignore them it's well worth a watch. It tells the story of how they started up in Paris in the 1920s. There's a lot of real footage from the time and interviews with the original dancers from old age looking back - I loved it.
